The management of Tata Africa Services Nigeria Ltd, 100% subsidiary of the TATA group of India, recently met with His Excellency Babtunde Raji Fashola (SAN), Executive Governor of Lagos state, and the members of his administration. The meeting was to introduce formally, TATA’s operations in Lagos and in Nigeria as a whole. His Excellency, the Governor advised the Company to look at investments in Lagos in all its core sectors.

He laid special emphasis on technology transfer in the automobile sector, assistance in e-governance and automation of government processes and development of hospitality infrastructure to boost tourism in the state. Mr. Sudeep Ray, Executive Director said that the Tata group considers Nigeria as the key country in West Africa for its success and has chosen Lagos as its first business destination in Nigeria where the company has so far invested N 1.4 billion to set up its infrastructure. The company now plans to make forays into other cities of Nigeria using Lagos as it s hub. Further areas of mutual interest and development in the state were also discussed. The company later presented a TATA Indigo SW Car and a TATA Telcoline Double cabin Pick up to the Lagos State government which was received by His Excellency, the Governor who thanked Tata and promised to utilize them for the developmental programmes in the state.
